So, it appears Spyders are marmite wheels, you either love them or hate them!
I personally don't like them, and still trying to work out why so many used ones for sale have either Spyders or Turbos which again look like hard work.
Going for 20" Macan Sports for comfort, but would really love 21" Classics

Mark-yorkshire, have you had yours long enough to get an idea of comparative real-life wear on AS tyres vs Summer?
I got my Macan in early May 2014. Done 5,000 miles so far. Tyres still look like new. No sign of wear.

Thanks mark-yorkshire, you're doing a fair mileage so maybe an update from time to time would be useful for all of us if you have time. I changed the fronts on my current Skoda Yeti at about 22 000 for example ( standard summer tyres) and the rears are still on 4+ mm at 30 000 ( but the Yeti is 70/30 front bias set up)

Think I must be the only person who doesn't like the RS Spyders. Look a nightmare to clean. 5 spoke classics on the other hand are a dream & really look the business
I love the look of the Spyders on my Macan and have specced again for my next car. The inner grey painted sections mean that the wheels do not show dirt. If I want a quick clean then it's easy to give the outer polished sections a quick wash over and leave the inner sections. A more detailed wash including the grey painted inner sections only takes two or three minutes a wheel.

By comparison the rear Pirelli P Zero 20" tyres on my previous Boxster were down to about 4mm after only 12500 miles whereas the front tyres were like new.

Guys - with the right cleaner and brushes any wheels takes a max of 3 minutes to clean! Some such as the classics will of course be quicker than the spyders and turbos but a few minutes is hardly the reason to go for a different wheel imho. Go for the ones you like to look of the most and enjoy the perverse experience of rubbing them down
Incidently, the turbos have grey inners too so they hide the dirty and dust nicely but a good wheel coating also helps

But kerb them (not difficult) and check the price of refurbishment. Best, don't kerb them
