I've just placed a deposit on a 2015 SD on 20" wheels.

I'm curious as what to expect tyre wear wise, we are coming from a 2012 q7 on 21" that does a set of tyres every year for us, which is around 10k miles. I've tried a few different brands over the 7 years we've had it and they are all about the same, it is a heavy old beast though. Hoping the Macxan should be a bit better.

I've done 12k in 12 months and reckon there's another 12k in them

My SD did 18000 miles on the O.E. Michelin with 3mm remaining at change. My usage is on country A, B and C roads with very little on motorways.

I reckon on 18-20K miles per set of Michelins, but I don't normally drive it like I've stolen it...

Thanks @sac1 and @andreas.

The car I am buying currently has 41k and the rears are low but legal, fronts are recent. I'm expecting the dealer to put some new ones on as part of the pdi but that seems likely they are a second set at end of life then which is great.

22 reg macan s. Bought at 15k miles and I drive it hard (mix of motorway and country roads). Now 22.5k and still have a 3/4mm all round.

Hopefully will be a big improvement on what you’re used to, by the sounds of it.

It sounds like it will be a great improvement.

The Q7 has been great, we have it 7 years and I still like it, but now we no longer need anything that big you start looking back at the running costs of a set of tyres annually, front brake pads annually and of course low 20's to the gallon due to the weight when running locally. I expect this all to improve with the Macan SD, just a few more sleeps :)

Excluding the damn replacements due to punctures which just happened to be the same rear nearside location, my other tyres did 21,000 miles

I hope you meant 3 - 4 mm not 3/4 of a mm 🤣🤣
