Hi guys,

Hoping some of you tech savvy IT gurus can help with this one?

Finger trouble during set up has caused me an issue with wireless CarPlay. Whilst setting up Carplay in my MY20 a pop up on the PCM gave option to restrict CarPlay to ‘wired only’. Whilst trying to select No to this my fat fingers accepted and now I don’t seem to be able to find anywhere to reverse this decision. I have tried deleting phone connections on both PCM and iPhone and setting up from scratch but it makes no difference. I don’t get the option to restrict to wired only during setup anymore and it will not connect wirelessly. I can get Bluetooth to connect phone only but will not work with CarPlay.

Anyone got any ideas?

There is a "factory reset" option. I used it when I sold my dull grey Gen2 in February, is that TOO much?

Didn’t wireless only arrive with Gen3 cars?

That was my understanding. Friend of mine has a Gen 2 and has to use one of the wireless adapters that he bought via Amazon.

Yes I bought one for the Boxster last week and it works an absolute treat 👍

My Gen2 MY20 (June 2020) GTS has wireless CarPlay. I believe it was introduced part way through the Gen2 run.

Didn't know that.

Have you tried connecting via the cable first. It will probably then remember the phone for wireless after.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I was thinking about a factory reset, but I will try deleting connections again and then connecting by cable option first. My car did have wireless as it was connected, but then I changed my phone!

On the iPhone, under Settings>General>Carplay it states that pressing and holding the car's voice control button takes you into Carplay set-up. Just tried this on my Macan and it does (key has to be in key slot).
