Same as mine then! Doesn't inspire much confidence in the initial replacement.

Just had my transfer box replaced to cure rear skip. OPC service advisor recognised issue and mentioned this box was ‘version 4’ from Porsche

The local OPC, said to bring it back on its Birthday to have the break fluid changed. And also to bring it back at 40k, to have the transfer box fluid changed. This sounds like its for the TB box issues.
The routine change at 40K is the PDK (transmission) not the transfer box.

The link is to a TVR thread!

And the extended TB warranty was discussed on this very thread at the end of July. I haven't seen anything conclusive to say that it also applies in UK.

This extended warranty for our car is clearly shown on the car documentation.

Appears to be 7 years from when the car was first registered.

Hi All,

Had my 2017 Macan SD Jump out Reverse with a bang then the engine died.
I was backing into my garage, the entrance Of which is a Small crest of a small hill.
Took a minute to restart the engine Then selected drive ok then it went went back into reverse ok.
I’m also getting a bang sometimes when I pull away after the stop/start has activated.
Are these symptoms known to be gearbox or transfer box or both?
The car has 60,000 miles and is under extended warranty.

Cheers
Bill

If you haven’t had the transfer box replaced yet during those 60k miles (?) then that’s a good place to start. The impression I have (maybe unfair?) is that everyone replaces it at least once

I didn’t get a detailed List of all work performed when I bought the car I’ll ask the dealer to print it off for me.

I also hear and feel a bang from the front end when I hit the brakes suddenly.
