Update. Mystery solved.

The car does have it, but there is a fault which means it isn’t illuminated. The SE checked with business manager to confirm the issue and has raised a warranty job to sort it.

They probably hoped you wouldn't notice.. Make sure you thoroughly check the car before driving away

In fairness it hadn’t had it done when we went to see it, but amazed nobody had spotted it.

That’s been my experience previously as well. For reasons I don’t know this hadn’t. All I know is that it was the Group Director’s car.
