Welcome.

Wilmslow suck, they have no need to sell cars, the local Cheshire Set want to drive a Porsche badge so the cars sell themselves without effort hence the OPC are rubbish.

Did Wilmslow they sell it to you?

When did you buy it?

If bought via an OPC or Indy, since the 7 years warranty elapsed then they knew of the fault. An OPC has a 111 checklist they go through and an Indy also knows of said checklist ergo they more than likely knew of the fault.

If a private buy in the same period then they may well have also known of the fault and not wanting a large bill, sold the car.

Yes, we would have advised to only buy with any Porsche which has an official Porsche Warranty and one of the points we would have raised would have been the Transfer Box issue and the 7 year warranty which only came about after the sheer numbers of Transfer Boxes that required replacing.

The other issue is with the DPF which can clog up and go into limp home mode, it is only an issue if the car is used as a Town Car and only does short journeys, regular Mway journeys for at least 45 minutes should get a Regen completed.

Discs can need replacing sooner than they should, there are a few other minor issues, timing cover bolts shearing, exhaust brackets failing, engine mount faults.

So no Porsche cars are not bullet proof, many components are “bought in” and probably via the lowest tenderer.

Take it also as a learning exercise to do due diligence in ones research prior to undertaking a major expense.

Goid luck getting it sorted.

Sorry I should have put some context to my original post.
I purchased the Macan in 2019 from Porsche Centre Bristol where I have bought a 911 4S and Boxster S previously. The Macan was supplied new by OPC Bristol to the previous owner and literally has every conceivable option.
During the last 5 years the Macan has been faultless other than the TB issue and the last couple of years it has been maintained by Cotswold Porsche Specialists rather than OPC Bristol and it was actually Cotswold Porsche that brought the TB issue to my attention.
I have asked Cotswold Porsche for a quote but as yet I have not received one.

Thanks
