Calling 911 veterans to comment on the specs: PNI7GMP8

Some context… for the last 20 years I have been buying cars, selecting one, as if it was my last one. That is except for my current 718 Boxster, which I took off the floor, while waiting for my terminal vehicle

So, my current view on a terminal car for me is a Porsche 911 Carrera S. Why?
1. 911 - it’s the best GT car for my purpose - daily commute and regular travels across the moat to Europe
2. S - when I spec 911 to my req’s, it naturally brings me to the next model-up
3. Iconic design that stood the test of time for decades, one of these days will be obsolete
4. If I, or the plant, goes legs-up, there is no other car I would want to be in with my wife and my hounds

So, what do you think of my spec?

Have you considered the GTS? You were going to get the GTS spec cayman after all.
We had a 991 C2S and I often wished (despite it having every option ticked - ex Mayfair demo car) that we had the GTS. If we had I may well have kept it.

That’s a classy look that your going for, really like the colour and wheel combination. I would be tempted to go with the Iceland green two tone interior and seat belts to match, add folding wing mirrors, for me add heated GT steering wheel, PS Plus. Would also prefer the glass roof but as you have a need for the transportation system probably leave as is. BOSE? Used to be standard with the S, probably wouldn’t choose it as an extra. See you’ve also chosen a outdoor cover, have you had one before? Is the car going to sit for weeks or is it to be more frequently used?

Thanks Mike, great challenging questions. The Iceland green sounds intriguing, just need to be practical with my dogs often entering my vehicle without wiping-off their feet

Re folding mirrors, I have space and fewer things to go wrong if I keep it for long.

I had a heated GT steering in my Macan S and I didn’t like it that much. I live on south coast with mild climate, so no issue here.

Yes, I like glass roof… I need to think it through if I will really bother with a bicycle mount, as it adds wind noise and looks rubbish, unless with a bike on it. Also it is so easy to stick the bike on the back of my wife’s SUV.

Bose is a minimum viable sound for me, the standard stereo is rather underwhelming.

Outdoor cover is for future reference, if I keep it as an exhibit from a fossil-era. I know it’s not practical for frequent use, as if the car is not perfectly clean, the dirt will actually scratch the car. I will probably drop it

Hey Tracky, looks like you have over-indexed on your options, shouldn’t you rather select a GTS with fewer options?

I am trying to keep it light, but I don’t have an allocation yet and we know what happens during long winter evenings
