I won’t be ordering a new 911, but if I was, I honestly think I’d go for a ‘humble’ Carrera with few options:
PN9D4LU1
Having ‘pimped’ my Carrera T, I’m not sure I’d modify a car again, or maybe not to the same extent.
The ‘base’ Carrera has 385 PS, which is honestly more than enough for UK roads. And I honestly think that ‘less is more’ although I have added nice wheels, and sports exhaust to the above spec.
And it comes out £17,500 cheaper than yours!
But seriously, there is no right or wrong spec. Enjoy the experience!
That is a very interesting perspective Simon. I am not that excited about additional horse-power, as you noted 385PS is plenty (and my Boxster has 300PS, so it is an improvement), so I configured three vehicles (all in green, with LED and RS Spyder ):
1. Carrera - PNVFZBM0 which is about £96k
2. Carrera S - PNL6UP37, which is about £108k
3 Carrera GTS - PN7WS891 , which is about £115k
I am not chasing after the HPs, or S or GTS badge, so I need to think it through, a base model might be a viable option.
Thanks again for a good challenge and first hand experience.
No worries! Given your comments, the Carrera seems a no brainier, saving £12k or £19k! Plus, if the 911 is like the Macan, the Carrera may have a shorter wait time than an S or a GTS.

Excellent! Fingers crossed that opting for a non-S Carrera would not only save you £12k, but be with you sooner than an S!
Plus, no clash between a green car and red brake calipers!

Nice spec - like you I'd normally not consider the base car, but on reflection it's probably all you'd ever need. Mine would be a (relatively) lightweight version, so standard wheels and carbon roof. Now I'm sorely tempted!

Do you think the roof makes much of a difference on a lump of a car like that anyway
Seems like a lot for not a lot!!
