Not yet driven a car with the 9A2 4.0l, the 3.8 in the spyder was well suited but tall geared (didn't bother me as in 2nd at 40-70 was amazing)
If Porsche gave it the 8k redline 414bhp of the GT4 I'm sure it would be just right on the money.. or am i just dreaming 😂

An excellent observation, @Gibberish

By the way, isn’t Caynan GTS, GT4 & GT4 RS the same base motor as GT3 RS, just with diff shaman treatment? That gives us a vast range of characteristics.

It’s good to dream and count horsepower… much better than counting sheep 🤓
I believe the 9A2 engine is the same across the board for the GT4/Spyder the only difference with the GTS is the 7.8K redline hence slightly less power.
The GT4RS has the GT division 992 GT3 4.0L engine so it's totally different.. or so I'm lead to believe.

414bhp / 309lbft in an N/A 992 would be enough surely?
Albeit lighter the 991.1 GTS had 430bhp / 334 lbft , the weight difference on 991.1 pdk vs 992 s pdk difference seems to be 90kg , going manual transmission saves 80kg. (Correct me if im wrong)

This would put it very close to the 991.1 GTS in terms of figures and that car is legendary 👌🤞

Thinking a bit more about the forthcoming 992 T model, if Porsche were true to the ‘original’ 911T, it would actually be a model below the standard/base 911. The original T was cheaper than the standard 911, with a less powerful engine, and a four-speed gearbox. In Henry Catchpole’s review of the Carrera T, he said that Porsche could have gone further, with weight saving and equipment trimming, resulting in a car actually cheaper than the standard Carrera. :geek:

I remember watching that review, i think I'll rewatch some of his reviews.. so good.
If they stick to the original recipe Porsche may stick the 300bhp 2.0L flat 4 into the new Carrera T
That would be a sad day, i can see the 3.0T going in it.
A lot more impatient waiting to be done

The next tightening of EU emission regs will kill off many ICE vehicles and lead to other speculative options not emerging. For the first I have in mind the ICS Macan, for the later as stated in the above article the naturally aspirated 992 Carrera or T
