I am selling my 2019 911 992 CS tomorrow and buying a 6yr old Boxster 981 GTS instead which will suit me better. The 911 is an awesome car but too fast for UK roads in my opinion.
So fast that I rarely get to hear the engine anywhere near its top end. If I was going for another 911 I wouldn’t buy an S again.
The Boxster on the other hand sounds awesome and is a lot of fun to drive. Great for the next couple of years whilst I wait to see what the Macan EV turns out to be like.
I bet that the naturally aspirated 6-cylinder Boxster GTS does indeed sound awesome. Please share some pics when you get it!

Thanks. I’m looking forward to doing some more alpine passes in the summer if I get the chance.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 9:27 am ^^^ That looks great, Salty! Congrats and enjoy!

He had put the wrong plates on it when I picked it up so it was fortunate that I was staying the night a couple of miles up the road and could take it back the next day so that he could change them.

I took my wife for a ride in a 911 C4S… and I was on my best behaviour. She loved it and told me that she will be sorry to see it go back. Yessssss!
So, few changes to my spec:
* 18-way seats to give the Mrs max comfort… that is a sacrifice I am willing to make
* sun-roof is a really nice feature. I don’t see myself opening it often, but the additional light is very pleasant.
* leather dashboard is really nice (still thinking it through)
* matrix front lights were in my spec already, definitely a requirement for me.

Isn’t a leather dash standard now on a U.K. 911?

Cracking looking car Salty! Enjoy
I had a Boxster many moons ago and loved it.
I agree with your views on the 911. I had a 992 C4S and chopped it in for the Macan. The way it gathered speed was unreal but I felt it was too fast for UK roads and to even try to exploit it I would end up with more points than my premier league team currently have
Pivot, the leather dash is lovely if it’s not already in the spec. The matrix lights are awesome and I miss them on the Macan. About the only option my 992 didn’t have was the sunroof (the previous owner spent £32k on options! )… and I must admit the cabin definitely would benefit from the additional light. Again enjoy it when it comes, it is an amazing car… I wished I’d had a chance to track mine to see what it was really capable of

That would be great and perhaps this is why I couldn’t find it on the confuserator
