The point made in the video was that PSCBs only last about 30% longer than iron, but according to his figures, the replacement discs, pads & bolts etc may cost about 4.7 times as much as for the ones for iron, excluding labour costs.

I'm assuming you can replace PSCB's for standard iron? If it's only the discs and pads being a different material then I can't see why you couldn't, if you didn't feel the PSCB's were worth it. If they're a different size then I can see why they might need replacing like for like.

I may be wrong, but I thought I saw PSCB's as an option on my GTS, which I purposely did not tick due to the higher replacement cost and little tangible benefit. Up to a point carbon ceramics are the same, they can have a slightly weird pedal feel, squeak at low speeds, need care when cleaning and can be eye watering to replace - they're only worth it in my opinion if you're doing track days or regularly driving really fast on the road...I've driven and owned performance/supercars on iron brakes and never had a problem previously.

Just had my pads replaced today and a new Drive belt, 2015 car with 53486 miles, second set of pads including wires. Make the car feel nicer under braking.

Worth every penny.

On Gen3 GTS PSCB@s are standard, the option is to change the calipers from Red to Black

Can anyone confirm that the PSCB can be replaced by standard iron brake and pad?

If the cost is a few times more for a new set of PSCB brake and pad, then I will have S instead of GTS.

Yes but would screw warranty I would think

Most of my friends take the full PCSBs off their 911 and put irons on instead.

How many miles will you be doing? They last a bit longer than the standard brakes. If you're not going to be driving like an idiot and doing big miles, don't worry about it.

Agreed. If it’s a short term car, which you’ll be chopping in before the brakes need replacing, don’t worry. Otherwise, it’s the latest Porsche money making wheeze.

Ask your OPC if the PSCBs could be replaced with iron discs when the brakes need replacing. If so, how much would the current cost be, and would it affect the warranty.

Personally, I’d go for the S (with the Gen II GTS engine) for a number of reasons. ;)
