Just had e-mail to say my connect services will be expiring soon as car approaching 2 years old. What am I going to lose here? If its just map updates and sat nav points of interest (which i never use) then i am minded to not bother renewing it. Will apple car play still work from the missus iphone?
Cheers

For me the main feature is Real Time Traffic but that can be seen via Waze on the mobile.

Map updates can be actioned for free by using the process detailed in another thread.

Above is the features of connect.

Mine all expired at 1 year and I only ever use Car Play except for the radio and it's all working fine. Carplay doesn't have anything to do with the subscription services ;)

Didn't bother to renew mine, don't miss it.

Google records where I parked my car, carplay works flawlessly for everything else. The only thing I can't do is to see if I locked the doors - but tbh the thing updates so slowly it's of no actual use.

Not renewed mine some time ago and don’t miss it one bit. Apple CarPlay works perfectly without it and better in every way imo

There are two Connect services.

The one for the Map updates, real time traffic etc as per the image in my previous post.

Then there is the Vodaphony tracking Connect service.

Both end and both are separate subscriptions.

I think the majority of responses above are referring to the Vodaphone subscription (app) which is crap and I didn't renew that last year. I am referring to the map updates and other sat nav connectivity but arriving at the conclusion I won't bother with it at £159pa. See what I lose and purchase if I miss it!

I didn't renew the nav subscription, and I haven't regretted it.

There is nothing in HertsMacan’s original post asking anything about Vodafone’s service provision.

Just why members respond writing about it is beyond me.

I’m in the same situation as my £159 pa subscription is due mid Oct. I will miss real time traffic and whilst I could use Apple Airplay I do use the directions in the instrument cluster which you get from the Porsche system…. however £159 pa is too steep!
Can’t find on the forum any workaround to get Google maps / Waze on the instrument cluster or have I missed it?
