My GTS didn’t have any, and I assume it’s normal, but still, travelling a lot through continental Europe, I would feel comfortable if I had both the repair kit and the spare tire in the trunk. I need some help deciding what exactly to buy

As far as I understand, the PCD is 5x112. And, since I have the GTS, there is some issue with the brakes, which leads to my only option being the R20 spare tire. Is that correct?

Is there some viable option from another (Audi?) make? My local Porsche dealer couldn’t help, and as I see, all the eBay ads are R18 tires.

Am sure a knowledgeable forum member will be along very soon to answer your tyre question.

Pure curiosity, but where are you based?

Looks like your GTS is left hand drive, and “tire” is a clue too! ;)

Cheers,
Simon

Ahah, I was sure something like that would give me away!
I couldn't avoid the steering wheel location anyway, though 😆

I’ve been mostly nomadic for the last few years. Currently, I have some kind of a base in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Size matters!

In a Macan which has a spare, the spare is collapsable and resides in a well under the boot floor liner.

A normal tyre will not fit into the tyre well, if indeed a tyre well is fitted in your GTS.

Put a standard wheel in the boot and it is full, been there had to do that.

The Porsche Tequipment site is not showing them as available.

Other make collapsible spares are available and are worth checking out.

Members here have got their OPC to retrofit a spare, suggest you discuss with your OPC.

Below is what a collapsible spare looks like, they take about 1/2 hour to inflate as the folded rubber tyre expands, also is why I am known for banging on about specifying a spare, without one your options are limited.

If you look at the current configurator the Collapsible spare wheel for the GTS is a 19"diameter.

Appreciate all the feedback, guys.

And yes, having read this forum for some time, I was expecting Col to post that memorable photo :) Personally, I totally agree with statement that a spare tyre is essential. I feel slightly uncomfortable travelling without one.

Does this one look like the one I need for the GTS?

Looks like the one, the 18" wheels have rectangular spokes.
