Macan S

Hi all .
I have just started looking at the Macan and have seen a couple of cars that have caught my eye so just to get some opinions of owners here would be good.

Still i,m not sure whether the S or GTS but as we live in the country and with some very small bad roads i,m thinking the S would be better suited.

Also unsure about the suspension setups so any advice would appreciated Many Thanks..

Hi and welcome,
Quite a far reaching question. My first suggestion for you is to get down to your OPC and get back-to-back test drives in both. Then you can hit the online configurator and play with options. By that time you will have a bunch of more specific questions that I am sure the good people here will have (many) answers for.
Maybe start with mechanical or functional options. You can always play around with cosmetics (colours, trims etc) later

If I liked the colour the blue one has 'the better' 14-way seats and standard PASM (not Air).
Warranty expires Feb'24 so you'll pay £1,500 for a 2yr extended warranty which you MUST ALWAYS have as long as possible (15yrs/125k miles).

I prefer the silver, but don't like the clamping, hard, 18-way seats nor the 'bobbly' ride air suspension...
...my experience? 3 weeks in two loan cars with 18-ways and Air, Vs. 3 weeks in my 2019 S with 14-ways and standard PASM.
This one is already in extended warranty to Sept'26 so that's a plus.

Blue one has PS+; SC; ACC which some like.

On balance, I'd go with the blue one on age and spec IF you can afford the extra £5k (plus £1.5k in Feb) and like the colour.

Welcome to the multi faceted world of the Macan!

I live in a rural area with single width country lanes in several places. I have had an S and now a GTS and both deal well with these roads. Just make sure your choice has the PASM suspension option. Test drive the Air Suspension to see if it suits you. Personally I am not a fan.

The "real" buttons you mean? If so, best choice.

The loan cars' haptic ones mean I have to look, stab, stab again, look again, stab a third time... just for one press.

I'm sure you can get used to the haptic ones... no, scratch that... they're very poor.

My opinion, and fingers, of course...

The "real" buttons you mean? If so, best choice.

The loan cars' haptic ones mean I have to look, stab, stab again, look again, stab a third time... just for one press.

I'm sure you can get used to the haptic ones... no, scratch that... they're very poor.

I rarely need to touch them, Sports Chrono dial provides all the required changes for driving, anything else (heated: seats, windows) should have been set before moving off and if not can wait until the road allows some "inattention".

Yesterday in loaner I wanted Sport Engine, Comfort Chassis. SC Mode dial one quadrant clockwise > Press PASM button twice from Sport setting > Sport Plus > Comfort. Only needed one extra stab to do this one.

Seat heat to setting three took five presses > stab/miss > stab/miss > 1 > 2 > 3. Then, back to setting one, another three stabs where one should be all I needed, eyes off road for two of them.

Guess I need more practice. Does the PEC run a half day haptic awareness course?
No... wait ... we have our S back again today! Real buttons again (plus new battery; new lighting control unit; new heated rear window; fixed door handle rattle). Hoorah!

I’ve said it before, I think the gen2 GTS would be my favourite Macan. Great interior and super engine

^^^^ +1 ………when I look at the Gen 2 buttons now, IMHO, I think they make the console look quite dated.
