Why the confusion, Neil and SAC (Steve) have already answered this correctly. Service intervals are two years and engine oil change is variable based on oil quality if signalled in less than two years. So not uncommon since the introduction of the 2.9 engine to have just miles based oil change and then a time based service excluding oil change. If short distance usage is the norm for the vehicle the oil quality will quickly deteriorate. PITA, agreed, answer is use it more or get a EV 😳

This is interesting. My 992 is showing oil and main at exactly same mileage (another 15,600 miles) as both are timed only.
Obviously the Porsche engines have usage or timed depending on the engine or model?
As Nuclear Nick has advised, I will get an oil change done before this, but interesting that it’s not asking for it in a 911. 🤔

I suspect the 911/718 boxer engines may not have the oil cleanliness sensor present in the "Audi "engines that enables the early call in for an oil change if lots of short journey trips

Pretty sure that this is an AI-generated post. 🤔

Or could be Neil's pseudonym account just trying to gain traction for his views ;)

Porsche Macan Service Intervals
The Porsche Macan maintenance schedule includes oil changes every 10,000 miles or after 1 year, as well as the following maintenance tasks at 40/80/120/160k miles (or at 2, 6, and 10-year intervals if mileage isn't reached):

The car has done 17,000 and is just 3 years old so would expect at least one right????
This clears it up for me: https://www.porsche.com/uk/accessoriesa ... intenance/

Select Porsche model = Macan

Note there are major and minor services dues every 2yrs/20,000 miles which include an oil "fill" and also the oil change is, "at the latest", every 2yrs/20,000 miles, so what happens if you ignore the oil condition 'sensor' telling you to change it earlier?
I think "at the latest" means if the oil alarm hasn't yet gone off you have to have it changed at 2yrs/20,000 miles from the last oil change.

Now, my reckoning is that if you had your oil changed at 18,000 miles due to the alarm you'd tell your OPC NOT to change it at the 20k service as it's not due until 38k miles (unless the oil alarm goes off before?. Correct?

That info was correct when it was published, almost 10 years ago! But a lot has happened since then - primarily the change to Audi-derived engines which demand oil changes based on driving conditions.
