Following my original post back in July, I put down a deposit on a Macan S in Crayon. I've continued to niggle about the spec, expecially the colour. Although this should be a minor item, I think it's important to get it right for a keeper that you look at every day. Although I'd promised myself a Macan in Crayon, I just don't think it works on the Macan as it does on the 911. Another consideration was price. I'm up at GTS level but have decided I'd rather have a well spec'd S.
Last week I had my day at the PEC - which reminded my why I want to own a Macan and although I'd not enjoyed the air suspension during a test drive, the PEC demonstrated its benefits so that's back in the mix.
So, I think this is my final spec. I've changed the colour to Gentian and added the air suspension. I'd be grateful for any comments on the spec before I lock it down next week for an April delivery - I'm about to go away for a month and want to get it done before I go. I'd be happy to shave off a couple of £k so grateful for any thoughts. The Bose is the only item which sticks out but I don't want to scrimp on a keeper.
Many thanks.

Very nice spec Vix and all personal preference stuff as you seemed to have nailed the essentials. If it were me I would go pebble interior with Gentian just to get rid of that “inside of a wetsuit” look inside and probably mate that with 14w, but go with what you want, it looks great

I'd definitely add the painted rear valance, polishing the rear bumper is difficult without touching the unpainted section and I tend to grt a dirty joint between the sections.Painted sideskirts if you can stretch your budget. I woudn't bother with the front valance on a dark car and your likely to collect quite afew stone chips.I'd also drop down to the 14 way seats, personal choice.looks very much like my "S" with the chrome details.
Many thanks for the comments. I'll have a think about the pebble interior although I don't have a problem with the black. Ditto the painted rear valance - I was considering the full external painted exterior package for the Crayon as I thought it needed it but thought Gentian was ok without. Is the painted sideskirt the SportDesign?
I've driven both 14 and 18 way seats (14 w at the PEC). Do you just consider the 18w to be unnecessary or uncomfortable?

Painted sideskirts are the Sportsdesign. 14 way for comfort and getting in and out.Vix wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2023 12:30 pm Many thanks for the comments. Definitely NOT uncomfortable. But they do make climbing over the bolsters on ingress/egress an embuggerance- many 18w have terribly creased up bolsters because of this. I always found 14w to be bolstered enough in any event but it’s a personal choice.Vix wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2023 12:30 pm Many thanks for the comments. Re Pebble, I had it and looked glorious throughout, gives a real luxury feel to the interior as well as some deviated stitching as a bonus!

That’s what I would call a heavily spec’d example. Options are very personal of course. These are the main ones I’d delete:
- Pan Roof. Banish the worry of leaks
- Crested headrests. You can’t see these when you’re sitting in the car.
- Speed limit indicator. Already displayed on the sat nav although I accept accuracy depends on nav updates
- Privacy glass. Never understood the wish for rear passengers to be hidden
- PDLS lights. The standard ones are very good
- Auto dimming mirrors. Depends how much driving you do in the dark. I don’t get many dazzling drivers these days and manual control is sufficient
- Power steering plus. Standard PAS is plenty good enough
- Sports chrono. Don’t have this myself and have read numerous owners say they used it a couple of times and never again
- Personally I hate all-black interiors. I have the two-tone black/beige which gives a little lightness to the cabin. With this the extended leather can be dropped saving £Large.

Thanks for taking the time to list those items. The roof and chrono are definitely staying but I'll certainly have a look through the rest.

I wouldn’t say too heavily specced if you’re planning to keep the car for a while - and all the options look sensible to me and the extended leather will lift the interior.
If I were speccing your car to around that budget, the two things I’d suggest you consider would be -
Two tone extended leather in either pebble or beige. Both will go well with Gentian and will lighten up the interior even more.
Swap the 18w for 14w. I had 18w in my Turbo and have 14w in my current GTS. I find both seats comfortable, the 18w a bit snug, but the side bolster is quite high on the 18w and makes ingress/egress a bit more difficult. I had a couple of passengers complain the 18w are uncomfortable and that was part of my decision process in choosing the 14w.
These two changes will add a few hundred £s to the cost.
