I think DJMCUK is suggesting that a first service only consists of an oil change?

Bit more than an oil change.

Change engine oil and oil filter. Replace pollen filter. Fault code analysis. Thorough inspection of vehicle including underside, engine compartment, power steering, tyres, brakes, coolant level & hoses, air intake, test drive and clean.

They were certainly separate for me but the oil was required after 6 months and 15K miles so there was no question of rolling it into a 20K service.

Well I had a new Porsche! No actually, had a "senior moment" and dropped a year!

This first service also includes brake fluid change as it's the 2 year interval.

My point was that the first service should be oil, so why are they quoting £1,200 which is the 2nd, main, service cost?
Has the oil service been missed? That's my point.

Brake fluid would usually be at 2nd, main, service at 2yrs, not 1st, oil, service prior to the 2nd, main, service.

2 year service is classed as a minor service. It’s 2 years or 20,000 miles whichever comes first.

4 year service is called the main service, as I understand it, as it includes items not done in the 2 year service.

Some cars (but not all) may request an oil change before 2 years.
