On my street there is an RS6, Ferrari Roma, new Defender 110, Maserati Ghibli (tho an older one), E53 estate, a Jag F Type and two Macans (neighbours T, stolen and returned, and my GTS).

None of us have driveways or garages! Welcome to London :)

I basically only lock and unlock my car when stood next to it. I don't know how these jammers work, but I assume if I'm stood next to the car it's less likely to jam the signal.
As a fellow Londoner I feel your pain…
To add to your routine: after pressing lock, I check red alarm light, then immediately put it in a “ faraday” pouch…… so nobody can jam the signal… and the red alarm signal still blinking……
To be honest last year car theft in my street has been nihil compared to near weekly the years before…. Police stepped up their game in some parts of Kensington. We got cctv now everywhere & private security guard… but every measure we have taken they eventually work around…. Its up to the government to weed out these criminals and subsquent insurNce rises

I'm very surprised about those figures. Hasn't 2023 been the year where many Range Rovers are being stolen daily. Especially in London. Yet those figure show they are down on 2022.

It was only late 2023 that RR updated the security, due to all the thefts.

The issue with Range Rovers has been ongoing for a number of years, so it is likely that some of those responsible have been identified and imprisoned as well as owners of those vehicle types becoming more aware of the threat and taking precautionary measures either voluntarily or instructed by their insurers.

Do you understand why 95% of our fellow contributors are so damn timid about geographical info? Fair enough don't put your address and phone number up but including a general area/city in your profile (like wot you and I have done) and being specific about OPCs, etc. can't harm but CAN make the info more useful. 😢
I'm a born sceptic, have my doubts about the original post.scant details etc.

The issue has clearly moved on from relay attack. A number of non-keyless Maccan's have now been stolen and i don't think they all were victims of Jamming and left the cars unlocked and unalarmed. Even if they did, it does not explain how they start them up and drive them away so quickly. I believe a new way of getting into the onboard electronics has been discovered and most of the cars security and functionality is electronically operated, we owners and the police are powerless to stop this happening. Whilst cars use technology to operate, technology will always be available to get around it. However or whenever the manufactures beef it up, criminals will quickly discover a get around. I wouldn't mind betting these ghost immobilisers will be ineffective soon, as they rely on technology and as mentioned above, it can be got around eventually.

I think physical security, with a good old fashioned key, is the only way to "try" and protect your car these days, although I totally agree, I'd sooner the car stolen than my house entered or family robbed. I will take what proportionate security measures feels right, and sadly have to accept that is the risk of owning a nice car.

What would the motivation be for this not to be true?

Pass , but more details of the source of your information would help dispell my scepticism.

In the UK it's 2 years 20k miles?
My oil change came at 1yr.
Geez, what sort of driving do you do if you have needed an oil change after 12 months instead if 2 years 20k miles🤔
