No I did not mean the obvious stocking filler , the others the really rare ones .
It’s too early to see how this eventually pans out the trade sanctions .

I’m sure I heard some information, from where I can’t remember, which reported that China was looking at mining for the stuff around Mt Everest. But they must need to do a deal with Nepal and Tibet surely.

Dunno, seems just walking in and taking stuff is very much in fashion these days.

What's the problem with the taycan battery? I thought I'd read on here that it was all a bit made up by some tesla fanboy on another forum...but then I read on here more recently that the OPC workshops are full of taycans getting fixed.

I have to agree with you, but isn't that sad? We bought into the Porsche dream, but find that in reality they're just an average manufacturer with lousy dealerships.
I've had worse experiences from Mercedes, BMW, Audi and Land Rover dealers, so I suspect lousy dealers are par for the course - once they've got your money, they lose interest!

Having said that, on the whole I've been pleased with my dealer over the last 10 years, which is Mid Sussex.

There are charging problems, overheating problems, and reduced capacity problems. Porsche apparently won't acknowledge there's an issue, as it would result in having to recall all Taycans, at a cost of hundreds of millions. In the US, many owners have used the Lemon Laws to get full refunds.

This article gives some interesting insights...

These reports do not encourage one to be amongst the first to take delivery of an Electric Macan.

Below is a picture of a Taycan battery in Bournemouth OPC out for replacement
