I paid cash by bank transfer in the morning that my GTS was delivered to me at my home at noon on the same day. This was by a specialist using a covered car transporter.

These are official Porsche dealers and not back street bomb site traders!

I found this far easier than going through the security checks necessary for a large debit card payment the previous time I bought a car. I paid a minimal amount on the first transfer to check everything working and the OPC had received it.

If car not up to scratch I would have relied on consumer protection legislation
This is exactly what I did đź‘Ť

I'm thinking I'm going to be happier paying on the day then.

The last four times purchasing through same OPC always just paid with a Switch Debit card on the day of collection. Usually have to confirm my details with the bank at the time. Although not all retailers are the same, one that I bought in 2018 didn’t take Debit cards for other than deposit ?

Until your bank doesn’t play ball and you can’t transfer funds on the day to take your car

Took me way over an hour to sort once - not what I wanted on collection day

I would ring them in advance if it were me ;)

I tried clearing in advance the second time. it still took 90 mins for them to approve the debit card transfer.

I have no issues paying a few days in advance. As someone else has said it's either Porsche GB or a franchise whose group is probably floated on the London stock exchange that you're giving your money to.

Ringing your bank in advance doesn't always go to plan.

I'd just pay for it upfront before you collect - That's what I did with mine a couple of weeks ago.

In reality, the car will probably be spot on as it should be on collection, and if not, don't take ownership until the issue is sorted.
