Real World Depreciation

It would be interesting to know what members who have bought from new and then sold have actually lost in value. I realise that selling in Autumn 21 will distort the figures but we can still get an insight into the real cost of owning a Macan.

To be meaningful I think we need
Model - Base/S/GTS/Turbo
Date Bought MM/YY
Price paid OTR
Cost of options included.
Date Sold or P/ex MM/YY
Price received - before discounting the cost of the replacement.
Plus any comments on unusual circumstances

Thanks for the link Col. I'll see if I can make sense of the thread 😁

Don’t think there is much in that thread that covers OP’s question. This is an extract from a post of my experience when selling my March 2016 Turbo ( spec in signature) The OTR price was £77,770, owned for fifty one months and completed 36000 miles. Sold back to my dealer, had to haggle and used a trader offer as leverage. WBAC at that time we’re £7600 lower! My depreciation cost worked out at £666 per month. This was of course before last years used car price hikes. They put their usual OPC mark up +£8k and sold it within a few days.

That's a good benchmark. I am expecting to lose 35% over 3 years and 24k miles or £650 pm on a cost of £67k. But if the EV takes off will the ice versions be wanted in 2025?

I really don’t think you have need to be concerned, there certainly won’t be a mass reduction of ICE vehicle demand in 25. With PHEV continuing to 35 and still many with either limited charging possibility or longer range requirement. ICE values for used in this decade I don’t think will be an issue. In fact might invest in orders for several for delivery December 29 and make a killing on resale 😉

As a ballpark figure, expect to lose £6-7K a year over 3 or 4 years, probably more if you don't keep it that long.

And, in days gone by, expect to lose £5k after one month!  :P
