I think the area of focus is will this car be worth more or less come resale time? Probably a little less but not more than you are going to save....

Well done sir...!

I don't think future buyers will be put off by the thought that it might have been a demo (even though it wasn't). There are thousands of ex-demos on our roads, many are being driven much harder now than they ever were on a test drive.

One question though - how did you manage to get the original 1.5% discount? I didn't think OPCs understood the word discount.

Seriously? He's got free motoring for at least a year!!!

Agree PorscheMack. It will make little, or no difference. It's still a 2021 Gen 3 model and still a 71 plate, irrespective of whether its registered in December or January with an additional owner.

The days of the number of owners on cars are nearly all gone imo.

Plenty of manufacturers are doing the same and registering cars to get their kickback (Land Rover for example). Also with more people providing finance for the cars instead of buying outright the days of ‘one owner’ are long gone.

Agreed

I think I’d subscribe to a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush here. I’d take today’s savings over a potential reduction in resale value which is unquantifiable atm. How did you haggle your initial 1.5% off out of interest?

They came back and said “we don’t have to, but we will beat that discount and give you 1.5% off the spec code I had given them. They were clear that if I made any changes after agreeing the discounted amount wouldn’t change in line with any increased value spec. If that makes sense?!
