I have always wanted a Porsche but I also like Audi as a marque, nowt wrong with those motors. I was shocked how much the price of the RS4's have crept up to be on par with the Macan GTS which is why I started looking here. That and the almost-double cost of insurance due to theft of the RS4s...

Oh that and the lower GFV of RS4s seem to make them quite a bit more expensive on PCP, though admittedly that is Autotrader prices and I've not looked closer than that.

I've not discounted them, if the OPC says I can't get a GTS for 12 months then it's back to square one...
I think at a guess !! unfortunately you will be going back to square one as rumours have it that they are already well into the back part of 2023 for delivery on the GTS.

When I asked about potential GTS cancellations I was told that they wouldn’t release these anyway at the moment but just go ahead and let them get built as “showroom stock”. I suspect this is because they know they can get a 10% premium on them if they have one sitting there shiny and new! 😳

I think they will need to run it for a while so can be sold as Used as they won't be able to charge more than list.

Yes I think you are right. Not too much hardship for them though when we are seeing “demo cars” selling at way over list at the moment?

Years ago dealers used to register cars in their name as the First owner. If this still happens then I guess OPC's can ask for what they like as "Technically" it becomes a second hand car.

Even if the HP payments work out too expensive and you need to go pcp it is worth borrowing on a personal loan rate so that you pay the maximum deposit allowed.
If you can put say an extra 10K into the deposit at 2.9% it will work out a good bit cheaper than that 10K at 6.9%.
Oh shit so - if I understand this right -

Borrow 10k at 2.9% from [provider]

Combine with 10k cash for a 20k deposit

This will work out cheaper than just a single 10k deposit and the rest at 5.9%

I had never even thought of that. I guess there might be an issued getting approved for a further loan for the PCP if I have the personal loan already?
Yes
work out the max deposit allowed and get the cheap rate personal loan for that bit of the deposit you don't have.
If it's a 4 year PCP then take the personal loan out for that time.
You will pay less interest that way.
IT's also more flexible as if finances allowed you can pay the personal loan off anytime and not be hit with further interest charges on that personal loan.
I'm not sure on your credit rating but a 10-15K personal loan wouldn't normally be a problem.

Nice one, thanks - great tip. I'll enquire when the SA gets back to me shortly.

Currently the quote I have got is valid for 30 days, so hopefully he doesn't try to raise that interest to 6.4% as above...!

Still no reply, but I'll give him a pass, he's no doubt got loads of GTS orders to work through ;)
