I know the diameter is 15mm smaller and heated, but is the rim thickness the same on a gen 3 model?

I tried both in different days and I felt the GT is thicker

Just another feeling not sure if it’s true, But seems that The standard wheel for gen 3 has less thickness than in gen 2

I went for the GT wheel obviously

The overall quality of the wheel/gear stick has been lowered for gen3, more plastic sadly

Isn’t the standard wheel in the Macan exactly the same item as the one in the 911??

Well that's what the majority of reviews say, "New Great wheel same as 911" ;) GT wheel can slightly block your view of the instruments being smaller diameter, that's obviously if you want to look at them

The wheel quality is just fine but on balance should have specced the GT wheel for its thicker rim.

No it’s not, and it’s not the same as the wheel in the gen1/2 Macan. Having driven a gen1 and gen3 I personally think the wheel has a cheaper feel(bottom spokes are now all dark plastic). It is fine but not as nice imo which is why I’d personally now go for a GT steering wheel if I got another gen3. The gear lever in particular feels cheap to me, enough that I’d consider upgrading to the carbon/leather gear lever - but it’s an expensive nice to have.
