Does anybody know of a good Scottish independent dealer where I can get a repair quotation? I could take a chance but prefer to act on recommendation.

You could try Stuart at spautobahn. https://www.spautobahncars.com.
Very knowledgeable guy with the older Porsches but when I've been in there has always been a modern Porsche in. He's not the easiest to get booked in with but worth persevering.

I know of "P for Porsche" near Glasgow (in Clydebank) but have not used them.

I would be interested in a good independent near Glasgow....

I’ve used Motortune in Shotts several times with my 996, 997, and Boxster in the past. It’s been a few years since I’ve used them but they were honest, reliable, informed and great value for money. Close enough to Shotts railway station to get you where you need to be once the car is dropped off 👍

Motortune did the clutch on my friends 996 turbo earlier this year and he was really impressed with them.
