I take an led torch to check over the paintwork. Once you have driven away it’s hard to argue about scratches, swirls etc
I didn't need a torch, this was after Lloyds had a go, so it had original prep, redone at OPC and another attempt by Lloyds..

indeed - like i said pity the poor soul that eventually bought it - perhaps it went to a proper detailing place after my rejection, rather than the muppets the OPC employed

My bonnet alignment seems fine ordinarily. So I went for a long drive yesterday and parked up. Then had a look, to my surprise the passenger side had 'pushed out' a noticeable few mms whilst the drivers side looked OK but I could see it had 'pushed in' slightly but not the equivalent of the passenger side. Checked this morning and they look OK as normal. I'll keep an eye on it.

You should expect localised expansion/contraction given that it's aluminium. If it doesn't return then start worrying.

So this is mine after 'warming up' - returns to normal once cool. Passenger side does look quite a bit out above - I'll get some pics of when cool.

There's got to be someone on here able to quote how much a pressing that size expands with every degree increase in temperature. All the damned equations and physics that emerged in the thread(s) on tyre pressures illustrated an alarming degree of available geekiness! I could ask my 27 year old daughter, she has an MSc in Physics but that was all wrapped up with lasers...

Has something changed with the manufacture of the bonnet as I don’t recall complaints of a similar nature over the last 7 years. Yes in the early days 2014/15 there were some alignment issues but these seemed to be permanently present when the car was cold. These new reports of misalignment after the car is driven seem to be new. With my previous three Macans I didn’t see any difference after driving the car although I did have to have my bonnet adjusted ( on my third Macan ) due to a creaking noise which was easily fixed.
