Factory options are not classed as modifications, that’s why they ask for the value of the car before quoting. If they offer less on an insurance payout which most would, that’s what gap insurance is for.👍
If for some reason your insurance company tell you that the options are classed as modifications, then it’s time to change your insurance company as the majority do not.

This is from the LV site- No, factory fitted options aren't classed as changes to manufacturer's standard specification. A change to manufacturer's standard specification is anything made after the car leaves the factory.
Macan S on order in Black. Leather and 21’ GT’s- Cancelled. Coming soon 911 GTS. :D

Please feel free to give us a try for insurance if you wish.
Regards,
Dan.
I did, Dan, after seeing your invite here previously.
You were more than double than LV, and I consider myself low risk, low crime rate area, full NCB and no claims / convictions.
It would be interesting to understand why there can be such vast differences in quotes between insurers, unless they specifically don't want to insure specialist / performance vehicles.

Just chased Adrian Flux, who were supposed to call me yesterday, and was quoted £2,200 for a Gen 3 S!
Birmingham postcode, 57yrs, PNCB, 1 no fault claim
Seriously re-thinking my order now.

if it helps, I am younger than that and put in business use and 12000 miles per year (no tracker, no garage) in Compare the market and for me an S came in at £468 fully comp with protected no claims. I suspect those Adrian Flux chaps are just trying it on a bit

Adrian Flux are expensive, and that’s if they quote you at all. Go on compare the market or try admiral on their own website. They are quoting me £400 fully comp with protected no claims. I’m 52 and 3 points. :D

Definitely try Admiral. I just checked my insurance with them for my GTS (that hasn't even been built yet!!!) and was pleasantly surprised. Old price £224.31 (annual premium for a 6yo 1.4 petrol Q3) taken out end of June this year. New price £305.68 if taken ... Thats a 56yo male, Surrey, no points, no claims.

Thanks all. I've tried the comparison sites but haven't spoken to Admiral directly. Direct Line best so far with £970!
I think I need to get out of Brum  . Lol.

Probably best to start with re-thinking your insurer, what quotes have you had?
Previous Porsche’s

2012. 991 Carrera S aqua
2016. Macan Turbo volcano
Current

pleased to hear DL gave you a quote as they are my current insurer and didn't have the new Macan when I last spoke to them, a few weeks ago. They were very helpful though

We have offices in Brum, so clearly I should be taking there train up there in future rather than my car!

I'll put in a good word for Aviva, they don't get listed in the comparison sites but I've used them a few times and had a multicar policy with them when I bought the Macan. Since then had a year with Privilege (a UK Insurance, aka Direct Line, brand, 2yrs replacement with new) and now LV. All less than half what you're looking at (even with 9pts at one stage!)
