Hi there, tonight my 2017 Macan S came up with a message saying service due in 23490 miles or 29 days. I was of the belief that this engine was a 2 year service interval, which would mean service was due on 20th Jan 2022. The initial registered date is 24th of Nov 2017, so that doesn’t tie up either. Can anyone shed any light on this?

The first 2yr service was due on 24.11.2019. So the 29 days more or less lines up for this year's 4yr service. When was it actually last serviced?

Was this by an OPC and did they reset the service indicator. Assuming they did, what is the speedo mileage reading today?

I should take it up with the supplying dealer.

Bought & serviced from OPC mileage is something like 16500. No idea whether they reset the service indicator, but it is starting to look like they didn’t do something quite right.

I should add that the last service the car had on the 20th Jan 2020, was the only service the car has ever had. Which was done a few days before I took delivery.

Brake fluid needs changing every 2 years (or 20,000 miles) too.

Seems the car is still working on its November service timescale, possibly it just recognised the eventual service in Jan 2020 as a few weeks late.

Perhaps the OPC had the car for a few months before you bought it (possible given Covid lockdowns/Christmas etc) , so a delay of a 8 weeks in that first service being completed ? Check the service book and invoice to ensure they did the scheduled minor service plus brake fluid, and not just an engine oil+filter change

I agree with Steve, the 4th anniversary of the car and Brake fluid change due has triggered this.Iit can be tied to the date the car had pre-delivery inspection done rather than the date of registration

Regardless of the above, the car is coming up to four years old in November and will be due a major service. The difference of two months is not worth arguing over and it's possible the major service interval does not change when a minor service is carried out (not sure about this, just thinking out loud.). In any event, the car is due an MOT on 23 November so why not combine service visit and MOT.
