I was at Portsmouth OPC today 9/11 having my winter wheelset fitted. In the showroom, they have Gentian Blue S, White GTS and white S. First Gen 3's I have physically seen. I think overall I am neutral between both the exterior and interior looks of Gen 2 and Gen 3.

What is it about side blades on a macan, why would anyone want a huge slab of cheap black plastic stuck in the middle of the door? It’s like the kings new clothes, we seem to think it’s part of the essential essence of the car…Dannyp wrote: ↑Wed Oct 27, 2021 10:38 amSorry - I didn't notice. I was looking at a base model in volcano becasue it has the pebble interior I've ordered. I was so pre-occupied with side-blades and interiors that I can't say what the other 2 cars were ... From the same bunch of clowns who want to charge me £168 to paint a Macan badge black!

So you agree, nothing cheap in relation to Porsche! But if it doesn't make it quicker what's the point?

I think it breaks up a rather tall door. With a bright colour such as Miami Blue, I think it looks better than having them painted at any rate, if a dark colour then it makes less of a difference. Having a bit of black at various points (front, side, rear lower, spoiler, window surrounds) on the car in such a case looks good to me.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

I have to agree! My pre-occupation with them was because I didn't like the idea of a slab of "honeycomb effect" plastic stuck to the door of an expensive car! In my spec I've paid to have them painted in body colour. Tbh though, the "honeycomb" effect didn't actually look bad at all in the fleshJon A wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 10:54 pmWhat is it about side blades on a macan, why would anyone want a huge slab of cheap black plastic stuck in the middle of the door? Apart from looks do they actually provide protection from the army of door slingers you find at local supermarkets?Jon A wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 10:54 pmWhat is it about side blades on a macan, why would anyone want a huge slab of cheap black plastic stuck in the middle of the door?
