Are the Gen2 GTS and the Gen3 S not both 375BHP?OmniCognateSnr wrote: ↑Mon Oct 11, 2021 8:04 pmGen 3 S has more BHP and more performance than the Gen 2 GTS, so that’s just a badge buying exercise. Gen 3 GTS is quite a lot more expensive than a gen 3 S, and you need to put an order in at birth to stand any chance of your grand children getting one.

That’s correct, same engine. The gen1 GTS had less power 360 bhp.hood69 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 11, 2021 11:19 pmAre the Gen2 GTS and the Gen3 S not both 375BHP?OmniCognateSnr wrote: ↑Mon Oct 11, 2021 8:04 pmGen 3 S has more BHP and more performance than the Gen 2 GTS, so that’s just a badge buying exercise. Now is not the time to buy if value retention is of prime concern, inflated prices will surely not last.
The Macan is an SUV not a sports car so having fun in one is very subjective and very much depends upon its spec.
An S would not be my choice for SUV fun, that would be a GTS which imo would be by far a better buy in that historically a GTS will hold more of its value pro rata than an S.

I think this is a very valid point in amongst all of us debating depreciation - which is the life factor as well - will you enjoy your purchase, can you afford to take some depreciation and also do you need a car right now?
Probably yes to Q1 and no to the other two. Q1 overrides Q2/3 though. You only live once, and who knows what the next catastrophe will be ( coming along like buses at the moment) so “smoke ‘em whilst you’ve got ‘em”.
Actually, looking at the news ( which I really shouldn’t ), high interest rates are the next catastrophe, so question 2 may become a tad more relevant to those with mortgages….
