Another vote for LV. They reduced my premium by £8 from my BMW 540i, but then charged me £15 for changing vehicles. They asked if I was happy to pay the £7…

Direct line was cheapest for me
About £500 from memory but that was with a recent claim when hitting a bit of masonry in the middle of the road with my Cayman a year ago and 3 points.

Just use a comparison site, never any point asking anybody on here as circumstances are so different.

I've just moved both porsches away from LV despite being with them for years as they have got 'toppy'

Renewal on 911 was £658 now. Moved to Admiral, £475

Funny enough was with LV for years moved to Admiral on our last Audi (since sold privately) and they have quoted £342 for our new Gen 3 ‘S’ coming in October just £6 more than the S3 happy with that 😎

I don't recall ever staying with an insurer for more than two years, I look around each year but don't just use the comparison sites as Aviva, for one, aren't on them and they've had me for a couple of spells over the years.

I tend to use comparison sites then phone mine up and beat them up a bit on the price. They usually come very close to matching the price if anyone can do it lower. The only issue I have with my current car is the engine is remapped. and that puts a lot of companies off (I can't really hide it as there is a plaque on the engine and under the bonnet). DL only increased my premium by £35 after the remap, some others wont touch it. That said, they wont put my son on the insurance because its remapped, despite the fact that the car he drives has the same size engine, pretty much the same BHP and is worth close to twice as much.

Never paid more than £430 on any of my cars past or present currently paying £350 for the GTS with E-Sure. As already stated LV also very competitive but just get onto the comparison sites

Phone to cancel LV this morning they didn’t even try or ask what I would be paying!

I have always avoided the comparison sites. All insurance should never be bought on price alone, Service, claims treatment and policy conditions are equally important. I have always approached the Which recommended providers currently LV, NFU and Direct line. Been with LV the last three years and seen only a small increase at each review.

I see others are mentioning premiums without full mention of mileage, area, driving record any NCD and protection etc which again makes price comparison difficult

absolutely. I use mine to drive to see customers so it needs to be covered for business use. Used to put down 15-20k mileage per year, but will definitely be less this year. I also don't have a garage. However I do live in the countryside and I'm old, which all helps (the insurance, not my knees)
