A trifle harsh. I had one for 24 hrs and liked it a lot, although hated the public charging process. But there’s no doubt all the latest Porsche models have been ‘trimmed’ by the bean counters. One thing you notice immediately is the rather cheap looking, and feeling, internal door handles which are now plastic ‘hockey sticks’.Nelladrahcir wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 9:30 pm I sat in a Taycan and wasn't impressed. The one I sat I was very plasticky. Having just climbed out of a 6yr old Audi with much softer feel trim I was surprised.
With electric I bet weight is immensely important, you can't make lightweight leather and carbon fibre everything will upset the bean counters!

But they can’t account for the weight of the big pink squishy bits ( other colours are available) sat inside. 5 hefty individuals probably makes more difference that using less moo-cow wrappers. I wonder is that’s why the interior on the Q4 eTron felt so flimsy.
If you watch some of the German Youtube car review videos their appears from the German Greens to be a proportion of the German population quite keen on Vegan interiorsOmniCognateSnr wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 3:34 pmBut they can’t account for the weight of the big pink squishy bits ( other colours are available) sat inside. 5 hefty individuals probably makes more difference that using less moo-cow wrappers. I think vegan interiors are here to stay, sadly. Possibly a trend Tesla started but most new cars, certainly new electric car, have either vegan leather ( read plastic ) or cloth interiors and recycled plastics for all the other trim. I suspect car manufacturers can’t believe their luck. They can use cheaper materials but charge more because they are being “ environmentally responsible “pmg wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 4:00 pmIf you watch some of the German Youtube car review videos their appears from the German Greens to be a proportion of the German population quite keen on Vegan interiorsOmniCognateSnr wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 3:34 pmBut they can’t account for the weight of the big pink squishy bits ( other colours are available) sat inside. 5 hefty individuals probably makes more difference that using less moo-cow wrappers. Daughter and two Grandkids came on holiday with us and she has a Mini Cooper two door, to say they well well packed in is an understatement.OmniCognateSnr wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 10:15 pmI’ll lend you my mini for a weekend. You could keep it in the boot of the Macan.Col Lamb wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 10:13 pm The one gripe I have about the Macan is its cr4p carrying capacity.
My Mrs and I filled the boot and one of the rear seats with luggage when we went on a weeks staycation a couple of months ago.
The fastback styling will do nought to increase load capabilities.

Yep, that’s what I have. A cooper S ( with a JCW pro-Tuning remap and very childish Bluetooth exhaust system ). I’m fine with it but my son keeps pointing out that sitting with his knees around his ears when he’s in the back doesn’t lend itself well to long journeys.Col Lamb wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 4:47 pmDaughter and two Grandkids came on holiday with us and she has a Mini Cooper two door, to say they well well packed in is an understatement.OmniCognateSnr wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 10:15 pmI’ll lend you my mini for a weekend. Or will it be priced near to Jag Ipace which starts at £65500 for the base S ?OmniCognateSnr wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 7:59 amTop spec Q4 Etron is £58k though. So the Audi with the bits you want ( or at least the bits I want ) is a similar price to a fairly well specced Macan S.mark-yorkshire wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 7:18 am I guess the base electric models will be about £8k to £10k more than the Audi Q4 Etron.
