Someone recently raised the subject of popularity by Macan model.

Full details here and click on a specific model for full details of each:

This is the rolling total of Macans that are currently road licensed [taxed] and those on SORN [untaxed] in the UK. Current grand total = 27,579.

The SD is the biggest seller with 8,846 = 32% share. It peaked in Q4 2018 with 9,001. Having now gone out of production, this infers 155 SD's have been written-off / stolen-unrerecovered.

There are lies, damn lies and statistics :D

Some of the missing 155 SDs may have been legitimately exported and are currently residing in ex-pats homes in Europe or elsewhere.

It's interesting to see that between Q1 2020 and Q1 2021 826 GTS were registered. Presumably these will all have been facelift models.

It's also interesting to see that the 2L Macan is currently the best seller in 2021 (by a small margin).

Under the NERW REGISTRATIONS tab for the GTS it states:
2020 - 827 of which 812 with the 2.9 engine
2021 - 159 YTD

Under the NEW REGISTRATIONS tab for 2021 YTD it states:
2.0 - 315
S - 224
GTS - 159
Turbo - 55

:o  :o

That's the problem with statistics. I went from Q1 2020 to Q1 2021 whereas I should have gone from Q4 2019. My 826 excludes Q1 2020 registrations.

Too much for my old brain on a Sunday morning

By the way how were you able to identify the GTS registrations with the 2.9L engine?

By playing around the various sub menus, there is some interesting info e.g. 2 litre sales by year

https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/p ... anufacture

tales off in 2017 when SD withdrawn, 2018 massive boost as in autumn only Macan available then falls back

same graph for GTS

https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/p ... -a#!newreg

and S petrol

https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/p ... -a#!newreg

Of course this is UK sales and not total Macan production. the 6/7 2.0 to 3 S to 1 GTS split quoted in the earlier post could well be correct if the heavy Chinese bias towards the 2 l is taken into account

The (rough) figures for the base/S/GTS split was given by the OPC based on the splits for base/S/GTS/Turbo so should be fairly accurate.
Apologies for my typos in the previous post.......forgot to spell check!!!
