So somebody mentioned Porsche finance rates increasing. I asked OPC and got the following message
“The Finance rate has increased to 6.5% on all new applications so the Macan will still be held at 5.9% as proposed.”
Hope this helps.

Hopefully folks are aware that much lower rates of interest for borrowing are available elsewhere. So only go for Porsche finance if you’re getting a decent ‘incentive’ in compensation! ;)

That’s interesting Simon, do you think it likely/possible to get “compensation” for using their finance? I am probably going with Clydesdale but I do need the wheels painting black… 😊

I was advised I MAY receive something like £500 discount if I took Porsche PCP but I’ve not got to that stage yet to see if it will actually happen

Jon, would you be kind enough to advise the approx APR available with Clydesdale ?

Yes I was quoted 4.8% just before Xmas and was advised they had had a recent uplift so unlikely to change in the New Year. I have asked today if that rate is still current and awaiting reply.

Thanks Jon, much appreciated. I used Clydesdale for a number of cars 10+ years ago so its good to hear they are still in the market with Virgin Money acquiring the bank.

I had 4.5% with Bank of Scotland on a 4yr PCP, had it all approved etc other than delivery date of car but the offer was valid until August 2022, all I had left to do was sign it.

I took that with me and showed the SE at my OPC and said if they wanted me to purchase using Porsche Finance they had to sort out lowering the % rate they quoted and/incentive or I simply use my own finance being offerred from my bank.

SE dissapeared and came back with a vastly improved offer, Im presuming they dont want to loose commission on flogging Porsche PCP.

Its a a competitive market out there so what do Porshe finance want 6.5% of nothing or 4.5% of the agreed amount?

There was also a niggle to be honest, that if I took Porsche finance rather than supply my own, I may end up far further down the waiting list?

Not the other way around?! Surely if anything, NOT taking Porsche finance may push you further down the queue?! :?

Hi Jon. I think there’s a chance, so no harm in asking. :)

I used Clydesdale too, for a couple of my purchases.

It seems that flexibility on APR rate varies between OPCs, and/or over time.

Lower rates still can be found on mortgages or personal loans, all depending on circumstances etc.

Cheers,
