This is my first Porsche and I have to say I am not impressed by my SE... this level of service is very poor in comparison to that received over the years from Audi and BMW.
This is my 5th Porsche and in the past the level of service has been very good, but like you I have generally had to do all the chasing this time - I suspect it's because nearly all of the cars have been delayed for one reason or another.

My experience over the years of BMW, Audi and Mercedes was rubbish, in fact all dealers are pretty much the same in my experience. Once they've got your money they couldn't care less about you!

I've just had the email this afternoon asking me to active Porsche Connect, so I assume the car is making its way to the dealer shortly.
I’ve not had any contact re Porsche Connect, despite repeatedly chasing I’ve heard nothing from anyone about the Porsche Experience at Silverstone and it’s required my prompting to elicit any information from the OPC on anything at all. Not once have I received an unrequested phone call or email during the entire process.

I’m apparently receiving my new car this week.

It’s been a quite different experience to the last new Porsche I bought in 2016 and yet it’s the same OPC and exactly the same SE.

V odd.
I've had nothing either for the Porsche Experience at Silverstone. Assuming now that this will be mentioned when I go and collect the car.

I had a similar experience with the communication from the OPC, but as soon as it was released from the factory the level of communication went straight up with updates on where it is and expected arrival dates etc.
Suggest you just call the experience centre. That is what I did and got a spot within a week as they are a bit quieter at this time of year.

Looks like the year end push is really on as the City of Oslo vehicle carrier is back in at Grimsby at midnight tonight after a quick dash back to Emden to pick up more cars having only dropped off its last load at Grimsby over the weekend.

A report from the tyre industry today...

"Astutus Research says that the shortage of semi-conductors and other vital components will lead to $2 billion (around £1.5 billion) in lost original equipment tyre revenues in 2021. The analyst notes that demand for new cars is not a factor in the slump in OE stream sales versus expectations, and that a rebound is expected in the coming years when component supply has returned."

Sadly, this is true for the entire automotive industry. We often forget how big is the OEM supply chain.

Oh definitely wouldn’t have ordered it like that - too many different reds going on with the calipers and standard rear lights 😉

Enjoy

Scary how expensive they are now with some key options still missing from the spec…..

Agree Tracky but luckily not as messy looking as a 992… 😉

Wasn’t aware there was a queue! Just said I wanted one ASAP and the guys at Nottingham gave me the timelines - I paid deposit and they gave me a build date when they got their allocations about four weeks ago.
I do suspect this OPC gets a big allocation though??
