Would the OPC insist you take the car and register it so you end up with a 2021 car? Presumably you would wait a week and have a 2022 car??
Before I cancelled my s build slot it was due to arrive Xmas time. When I said to the salesman I’d wait until jan for a 2022 registration he stated that was not an option. It would be registered within a day or 2 of arrival. I’ll be luckily to see my gts before May so no such issue now
BS from your SE. If you didn't insure it until 1st Jan how could he register it in your name in December ? My SE originally said delivery in Feb. I asked if he could register it on 1st March and he said no problem.

The standard contract states that you need to take delivery within 14 days of the car being made available at the dealers to collect....

Can't you pay them, take it away on a low loader and then register it youself?

He is still adamant that it will arrive with the dealer on the 24th December lol I'm still not sold based on other peoples updates!

Well, I didn't actually put a deposit down until the 30th September and at the time I was calling any dealer within 100 miles for a build slot and Reading was the only one with a build/delivery slot before end of February and when I placed the deposit he was very clear that they would want it handed over in December and based on that I put the deposit down. Saying that I did ask if I could hand over in January but they were insistent on December (only caveat to that was if there were any delays). Also they have given me a 1% discount so I don't really mind that much about December/January registration!

My contract states that the car must be collected within 14 days from the car being made available by the OPC.

I bet the SE or Sales Manager didn’t mention the “d-word”. ;)

Over valuation of your part ex? special allowance? Miss off some extras? seen the all at various times to hide what they were doing (including my current Audi where the official invoice doesnt show half the extras and then the price on the finance doc is different to the price on the invoice.... but they never mention discount!)

Just picked up the S. So pleased with Miami blue and the black GT wheels. Other half was apprehensive about the Miami blue but it’s turned out really well.

Will post observations soon as I’ve spent 2 weeks in a base with air.
