The OPC can access the factory IT system which details the build via process codes.

One code is vehicle to Factory Compound, another is when the car is at. Emden awaiting loading onto the ship.

When the car leaves the Factory Compound then Porsche Germany can issue the payment invoice to the OPC.

With each car the customs documentation will have to accompany it, if it is not there or missing in the IT system the car will be held at the UK docks once it is unloaded.

So yeah, the OPC does know, some choose to play the customer for an idiot.

There are Marine Websites where you can see where the ships are and these include a filter for vehicle transporters.

Top one on the image is heading for Grimsby where it is due at 02:30 hours on the 23rd.

We will be literally in the same boat towards OPC :D
So far the North Sea hasn't seen the loss of a vehicle carrier so no need to worry on that account....

Must have been VERY new if the dealership hadn't managed to expunge that degree of helpfulness and communication already! I hope you got them something for Christmas!

Hahahaahahhaahahahhaha 🤣

the previous sales person got fired just before christmas , I had a horrible time dealing with that person for 6 months….. and in the end just communicated with the general manager.

This person started literally 2 weeks ago :D and very refreshing indeed!
I plan to to my 911 order with her, if she stays this friendly course🤣

They had just been launched then so there was a long waiting list but yes Audi were brilliant

Fast tracked new car
Gave her a new Q7 while she waited
Put us both on the Audi experience day - not free like the Porsche ones are

Had a nice email from my local OPC with an update of the car, currently it is on the build line and according to their records should be with them within the next 3 to 4 weeks. They also commented that they would be happy for me to collect the car in March therefore having a new 24reg. The said they will be contacting me shortly to discuss and review handover documentation and try to sell me GAP insurance and ceramic coating. Fortunately I have sourced these out by 3rd party companies. After asking I now have a VIN No. Exciting times, my next job is to find some cheap insurance.  How much!!!!
