It will be about 6 to 8 weeks before the build date that Lockdown is required.

After it is built it can be between 14 & 50 days before it gets to the OPC.

Having your spec ready to go and the Sales staff aware that you can close rapidly could help if there is a cancellation.

Until you Lockdown your deposit is refundable, after Lockdown you are contracted to buy.

Not really we just went in with our local dealership in Edinburgh, I knew that there was a long wait time so
Ordered nearly a year before we really wanted to change the RRS.

Having just been through this myself, I actually blanket BCC emailed about 25 Porsche dealerships asking the the question on allocation, lead times, etc etc.. worked really well, but my inbox lit up like a Christmas tree and took a bit of coordination. It also showed the BS from certain OPC’s against those that were just honest from the start, also those that were more proactive against those that sent out a standard BS email along the lines of “ great choice on the Macan, you have a great eye for detail etc..” copy and paste email used by quite a few dealerships.
If you’re not rushed then sticking local makes more sense.

I didn't order from Edinburgh, but i did order in Feb this year, so similar to you. Was quoted 12 months at the time. So hoping for Q1 or Q2 next year. Will know more in the next month or two.

Ditto. Got build completion date moved from 16th to 11th September. Collect likely in October I think
