Jeez, save us all some time and tell us which box you DIDN'T tick.
I know but I fully intend to keep the car a long time so I went for a few things that I don’t really need like the illuminated sills, fuel cap, ioniser, ventilated seats etc.

I agree with Jim, if you intend to keep it, then spec with no regrets.

Having said that, I had alu-filler cap on my Macan S, and I only got to see it once a week for 5 min at a petrol station, so it is no longer on my list.

Also, @Jim, don’t get too attached, as after 2 years you will get an inevitable call from your OPC offering you a deal that is hard to pass 😜

So you think used prices for gas guzzling cars will still be strong in 2 years time? I hope you're right as I normally change my car every 2-3 years 😁

I suspect Porsche gas guzzlers will hold value better than other marques.

We have ageing population with disposable income; our holiday travels are restricted; we have supply chain constraints; we have agreed to green targets… odds are stacked against ICE cars, which makes it more desirable, as evidenced by insane waiting lists.

Anyway, I look forward to my visits to Goodwood and Silverstone meetings and open days.

Today, Yes. But 2 years down the road not sure desire for ICE cars will be as strong 🤔

Well I have thought about putting another deposit down when I pick the GTS up then making an decision on whether to get it or not at the time the spec has to be locked in.

No one knows what future holds, so I am hedging my bets:

1. Just locked-in the specs for Caveman GTS 4.0 for delivery in Mar-22
2. Deposit in for a 911 Carrera S, promised in 4Q2023 (but who really knows?)

In the meantime, if the solid state battery gets finally commercialised — with 2-3x power-density that would push me over from ICE to EV and I will:

3. Switch 911 order to Macan EV with decent range and faster charging time.

PS. According to the interwebs, BMW is planning to use solid-state batteries by 2025 and Merc before 2030, so short-term our ICEs are fairly safe.
