Hi All

I’ve been stalking the forum for a while checking out everyone’s spec’s and getting jealous of those who have taken delivery.

Got an email today with a lock in date of 3rd December for a March delivery.

Originally I’d gone for the 21” satin GT design wheels but these are no longer available so the dealer has swapped them for the 21” satin 5 spokes.

This is my current spec http://www.porsche-code.com/PNVUWM74

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. The big one for me which I’m still undecided on is PSE. Thoughts??!

The 21inch 5 spoke will look brilliant, I think they fill the space beautifully. And they will be damn easy to clean.

Nice spec Chris, Just some thoughts and purely my own opinion. Drop the BOSE add extended leather, for me too much black on sides, either body colour paint the sideblades or drop the black handles. Think about a spare wheel. PSE is nice sometimes, I actually turnoff when on motorways, I do like it on short runs with lots of gear changes but it’s not going to sound like a 911ever. It’s your car do what you want 👍

There “should” be a gap of between 1 and 3 weeks. However, just at the moment it appears cars are rolling off the production line with bits missing that then have to be manually retrofitted before the cars can be shipped and that seems to add at least a month.

Normally between 2 and 6 weeks, the big variable is how long the vehicle sits on the dock at Emden waiting for a boat to Sheerness (Southern dealers) or Grimsby( Northern Dealers). however, at present some cars are being built with bits missing and having a further delay in a compound at Leipzig till the missing bits arrive and fitted

Makes sense but he is being advised of a three month delay, two months before it gets built!
Does this mean that the delays are now automatically built in because they know they won’t be able to deliver for want of parts way into the future…

I’ve seen reports of the VAG saying the parts shortage shouldn’t be an issue past Q1 of next year ( which seems unlikely), but who knows.

Not necessarily that long a delay. Lockdown date is usually six weeks before build, meaning in this case the car being built in mid January. If the vehicle is handed over on 1st March that would be five or six weeks between build and handover, which is not abnormal.
