In real-world UK driving, our wheel size and suspension choices likely have a bigger impact than engine choice.

Many people like to point out that you're driving a 'lesser' model than they are. At the end of day, remember there's someone else out there saying the same about your car.

Looks to have plenty enough poke for my needs. The purists scoffed at the 4 cylinder 718 2.0 but I found that it was bloody fast and I rarely had the opportunity to explore the upper end of its power range.

Macan 0-60 ( with Chrono ) 5.8 seconds

2021 Golf GTi 0-60, 5.6 seconds

So the comments about “struggling to overtake” seem a tad daft. Its 0.2 seconds slower ( and we know Porsche tend to under-quote their performance) 0-60 than a Golf GTi which is pretty much the flag bearer for hot hatches. Not seen many reviews that say the Golf GTi “struggles to overtake”.

How many of us are at a standstill and need to get to 60mph in the quickest time possible? How many of us, regardless of what we drive, wish they had an extra half second knocked off the 0-60 time? How many of us struggle to overtake? Yes, I'm bearing in mind this is a Porsche forum!

Its a bit like launch control. Sounds fantastic but you’d feel a bit of a knob using it at the traffic lights. I suspect its one of those things that will get used once or twice when showing the car off to friends and then again when the car is sold in 10 years time, lowered, 23” spinners added and bought by a yooof. So basically all the stuff I would have done 35 years ago, but not now.

Never used it on previous Porsche’s but the squatting that a Macan appears to do when used means I will certainly try it when my car arrives (eventually)

I never used launch control on my Boxster T but had fun with launch control with a Macan at Silverstone PEC.

It is not the 0-60 time that matters it is the in gear acceleration and in particular the pickup.
