Tip

If you have long waits and have the cash for a deposit sat in a Bank earning nothing you can always place an order with a different OPC (ensure they are not part of the same group).

That way the first to give you a confirmed build date wins.

You only have a firm contract when you finalise your build, so have it ready to go and do let the OPC know you can firm up very quickly if they have a cancellation or a new allocation.

Deposits are refundable in full up to the time you confirm the build.

TIP+, check about the deposit being refundable. My paperwork said all over it that the deposit wasn’t refundable BUT the OPC said to ignore all that as they would lose customers if they didn’t refund deposits. So Col Lamb is quite right but I’d suggest you ask the OPC to make sure they are all the same when it comes to refundable deposits.

10 months. That's about the going rate isn't it? Not bad considering.

Think it’s gonna be delayed tbh due to the Ukraine issues

I fear you're right. What I also fear is that other features will be deleted without our knowledge before the car is delivered.

I bet there's a 'Porsche GmbH reserve the right to change the spec of any vehicle without notice if circumstances dictate' type sentence somewhere in the small print.
I hope there isn't, I haven't looked.

FYI. Clause 3.2 covers spec changes and yes they can change it at will. Major changes?? give you the right to cancel.

Mmm. I shall have to keep a close eye on the configurator. I don't think there was an official announcement until quite a time after the pulling of the electric steering column adjustment.

BOSE now gone as an option on the Base, T and S.
Still available for the GTS though.

Dr Gloom here. I’m afraid the situation is only likely to get worse due to energy shortages. I’ve been involved recently in forward buying energy for a large organisation and have had a pretty frightening look at the near future.
Industrial users are mostly on special tariffs which allow for interruption. Governments will move heaven and earth to avoid domestic cut offs so industry will always take the strain.
Germany is the most affected country in Europe due to its reliance on Russian gas and the Russians are playing games with the Nord Stream pipeline at the moment to show just what they can do. You might think Russia would need the money but they have made billions in the last year due to rising prices.
It’s possible but not likely we will see industry disrupted here. It’s absolutely likely there will be serious disruption in `Germany.
It’s also only a matter of time before energy costs feed into the price we pay for cars.
It’s being so naturally cheerful that keeps me going.
