How do you get a bike right up there?

I have to use a step stool just to wash the roof, let alone grapple with a heavy bike.

Am I missing a trick?

I've seen the Tour de France. Those carbon fibre bikes weigh nothing.

You shouldn't have bought a big boys toy if you can't reach! That'd be like me buying a Cayenne. :D They do make smaller models for little people ;)

Mine's 13.5kg, MTB, aluminium. I'm 6' 1"

I see in their ad that Porsche have a 7' cyclist (nearest the camera) who lifts the bike on at 0:18. Even then they cut the point he secures the arm.

I guess you need the cross bars so as to slide the bike carriers in? As here...

I’m over 2 mts tall. And would not want to lift my MTB onto the top, having to stretch more than a little with the weight of the thing.
But would not a problem with the road bikes.

I've reach the level decrepitude where I can't even get the bikes on the low level roof of the wife's car so got a tow bar bike carrier for the Macan. Obviously not an option if you don't have the tow bar (needs to be specified at build time?).

Also, I've recently invested in an eBike so the roof bars are no longer an option (even if I could get them up there).

Works a treat...
