Your Macan Turbo looks great & I too can’t wait to see your GT3 when it arrives!

Any pics of the Italian exotica that you’ve enjoyed? 🇮🇹

Cheers,
LOL.. answered my own question.. I didn’t notice your name at the bottom of your message.. at least I was right!! It is Simon 😄👍

Yep, ‘tis me! :)

Very nice Italian stuff. Will probably never own one, but they do look gorgeous.

Am not sure that any Ferrari would work as a reliable sole car/daily driver. :?

Cheers! 😎

I see you’ve still got the Carrera T! Well done! Sometimes I wish I’d kept my 991.2 C2S which I got around the same time you got your T. Saw mine for sale recently.. I did 13k miles in the 2 years I had it. What’s the mileage like on your T?

You’d have to be seriously hardcore to daily a Ferrari. Thankfully I had a Cayenne S at the time for that purpose. It was an itch I scratched and frankly wouldn’t have another now. Reliability was an issue with them, even new ones, and the their warranty is as watertight as a sieve.. They kept badgering me to order a new car.. but I didn’t like any of the newer stuff.. Personally, Ferrari styling peeked with the 488. The Lambo was a revelation though and I’d have the same one again.

It was the nicest of the lot and the most enjoyable to drive. It was very confidence inspiring, which was in total contrast to the F12 which just wanted to bite your head off. The Cali T was the biggest pile of doo doo I’ve ever bought.. sold it after three weeks.
Love the F12..... 8-) , esp the colour

Cali T "pile of doo doo"
Cheers! The F12 had so much presence.
The Cali T on the other hand.. had the torsional rigidity of a soggy shoe box with the roof down.. the amount of flex was unreal.

Yeah it commands presence due to its sleek elegant design ( not shouty design like lambo) but suave..
F355 / F12 (812) are in my view the nicest sounding Ferraris ever made ( outside the special ones)...
hahah I drove a 09 California, it drives very wobbly/steering...

Hi Cowan,

Yep, picked up my new T on 6th April 2018. It’s now just over 50,600 miles. Still love it.

I do like the Ferrari Roma. Maybe the most daily-able modern Ferrari? Still beyond my means though!

Cheers,
Simon

I gather that the Roma Spider is much better. 8-)

Hi Simon, I suspected the mileage on your T was going to be circa 50k given how long you've had it. It's a liberating experience to not worry about residuals. It's probably running sweeter than ever!

Not sure about the Roma.. the spider version is a missed opportunity looks wise (IMO). That engine, good though it may be, having won multiple engine of the year awards, sounds like a bag of nails.. I'm sure the Roma IS a good car and much better than the Cali T / Portofino which it replaces, but I don't like the pretentious attitude, nor the "let's work on building you Ferrari profile" and the constant "when are you ordering your new Ferrari?". The feeling at Lamborghini is much better and more inclusive, but they have so little to offer. The car I had is the only car I liked that they made. Glad to be back with Porsche!

cheers,
Cowan

2.5 months to go... TIK TOK... TIK TOK...

Saw quite a few GT3s being made recently on the 992 production line.. No Anthracite Brown Metallic to be seen anywhere.. Porsche South Lakes organised a three day tip back at the end of September for roughly 20 people and staff to the factory and museum in Stuttgart, with evening meal at the Christophorus restaurant above the museum.. 26 degrees during the day, sunny.. Bliss.. A true bucket list experience! Mercedes Benz museum was incredible to visit as well!!

Glad to hear you say this. I've got my name down for a PCGB Macan (10th birthday) Register visit to the Leipzig Factory next June, including a day at the Leipzig factory along with visits to the likes of Colditz and a train trip to, and tour of, Berlin possible, as well as visits to include the Porsche Museum at Stuttgart on the return journey. I went to the MB museum a few years ago, I hope Porsche can match it!
