I know too many people whose driveshafts are somewhere beside the main straight of their local track. Better to get a Caterham or similar which is fun but also costs less than the typical repair bill from a track day.

I would never take my Macan on track. If I had a 911 GT3 I wouldn’t take it on track either. I believe the only car that is suitable for track driving is one that belongs to somebody else. 😉
Or make sure it is insured !

I wouldn’t have a gt3 and not track it - total waste of car otherwise!
I suspect the large majority of Porsche output regardless of model, are wasted.....
It’s what I’ve always said…and be criticised for !

Luckily Porsche build them for just this use

We’ve never had a Porsche failure in 15 years but GTRs and maclarens etc well they’ve not always ended so well!

100%. Think it's the law that one has to thrash them and take them on track, ideally both at the same time. Am currently working out how to best pop my track day cherry, most probably at Brands next year

You might struggle with noise there

Try silverstone - it is fast but few places it can go really wrong

That's the other one that people are recommending. Apparently much faster so coaching harder.

Everyone saying avoid Goodwood at all costs as no run off apart from very slippery grass, and then some thing hard

The best/safest to start at would be Bedford but you’d need silencers on the exhaust.

Nothing goes wrong there…..well apart from year ago when two of my friends (who didn’t know each other) t-boned one another. It was the most expensive accident they’ve seen on the basis it was a Db9 and 997 turbo back in 2010

I haven’t been there for years

Very excited now. My Macan S was built just over a week ago, on schedule, and it is being loaded onto a ship at Emden to sail later today. Should reach Sheerness on Thursday - I think the ship must be the Elbe Highway.

You can track the ship on Marine Traffic if they have their AIS switched on.
