Been a big week! Car finally arrived (although only ordered 1 Feb so the wait was actually pretty short in the end - we got lucky).
Took the advice on here re getting it polished by a specialist (Finer Detailing in Oldham for those who are interested) who has done a great job for a very reasonable price.
Also took the advice to use a bumper protector for the dog, rather than adding ppf to the sill. Not great so far - he jumps out of the corner - but with practice perhaps he will get the hang of it.
And the icing on the cake - got 33 mpg on the way home from Oldham! Decent 70 mile run on the motorway, speed variable as the weather was rubbish, but way more than expected. Suspect it won't be repeated (more normal 24 achieved today on a shorter trip). Don't particularly care (wouldn't have bought it if high mpg were important to us) but a nice surprise.
So far - just love it. Comfortable, quiet enough, responsive (although obviously can't play yet as got to be sensible while running in), goes around corners like a hatchback (PASM on Sport, Air on low)... Wonder where we can go tomorrow??!
Arrived, polished and ready for the dog!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Papaya is a striking colour but not sure I could live with it for years. Enjoy your car.
BTW, I got an indicated 36mpg on a recent trip to the lakes and after a morning looking around RSPB sanctuaries refuelled and got 32.5mpg for the two days travelling. Second best tankful in the three years I've had the car. Average over 17k miles is 28.5. Around town fuel consumption is atrocious so avoid using the car for short trips.

Guess you have a roof box or trailer for the luggage and shopping then
Most of us are guilty of spoiling our dogs though
