Apologies if this has been covered before.
I’m selling my 70 plate Macan.
A dealer contacted me and said he can sell it on a SOR basis, however I keep the car. It’s pretty much in mint condition. If he has a customer, then he will take deposit, buy car from me and then prepare and give to customer.
I presume there is zero risk in this, as I have read horror stories.
Obviously I won’t release until I have cleared funds.
He does want me to sign an agreement to allow him to advertise it, although I will read it carefully.
Thank you.

Bung it on Wizzle and let dealers offer on it.

Will try Wizzle.
But is there any risk if all they do is advertise the car?

Be careful and definitely read the small print. It's a well know fact that you sign the contract and within it is a long tied in period that they get a commission even if you sell else where that was nothing to do with them. Some are known to do nothing at all, but wait for you to sell and then hit you with a commission bill, similar to signing an estate agent contract as sole agent.

No. As long as you don't enter into a written contract with them. Have they given you any idea of how much you will get? Hey, how come you're selling such a new car anyway? 😊

I assume it's an indie dealer. If so just let him take a commission. Say you want £60k min. If he sells it for that then he gets 10%. Then increase it by 10% for every £1k over 60. 61000 he gets 6k +200. 62k = 6k +300
Etc

Just not using it, and also with the current market, a good time to sell.

I would try WBAC, Cazoo and Wizzle just to get some idea of current value. Or perhaps advertise on this forum 🤔

Read the small print very carefully

What appears to be zero risk for you is more likely zero risk for them, after all they advertise a car that they have zero equity in until the point a buyer places a deposit. If i were local to that OPC i'd expect to be able to see and drive any advertised car before buying, but that's not the case for lots of people these days, COVID, Cazoo etc have seen people buying off screen

Motorway is the other car buying website worth considering.

Or just call a few other OPCS to see what interest they have ? I'd expect an OPC to be looking at £6k min margin, even on a car they know will need very minimal prep wok
