I thought sd1985 was saying if money no object, one would buy GTS or add all options.

I am saying no as some options have negatives e.g. like a stiffer ride, increase the risk of theft or changing the looks in a manner the purchaser is not happy with with

^^^ I share 90% of pmg's view, although I think 20" wheels still verge on the "pimpmobile" look (takes cover quickly) and rate the extra oomph as more important than refinement on stepping up from base.

What I do find sad is the way the increased testing of option variants is restricting even the freedom for Porsche buyers eg on wheels no 18 for base, nothing below 20 for S and 21 only for GTS. At least Porsche's option restrictions have not got as far as BMW's yet.

I am waiting for interest to see whether 18 or 19 winter wheelsets are listed for Gen3 and which models as the narrower sets cf 20 and 21 limit aquaplaning risks. A pity they do not realise with climate change those down pour risks apply equally in Summer.

Ps I maybe a "pimp" look in summer not in winter when I run 18's

Maybe my, all year round, 18s will become collectable. I can certainly consider carrying them over to a future purchase, although a bigger gap between wheel and brakes to ease cleaning might promote 19s. However, I can go places in my Macan that would have someone with 21s in reverse and I dont JUST mean up a kerb 😂😂😂. Am I missing something, what do 21s offer that would make my life better?

Admittedly I’m also buying the macan for its looks, hence why anything below 20inch is out the question. For my personal taste some of the wheels ruin the look of the vehicle.

But that’s just my opinion.

Each to their own, good thing about the Macan is the range of wants/needs/likes it caters for. That all adds to the entertainment both on the road and in this forum, we just need to remember that there is no RIGHT answer, it's all down to personal preference, you pays yer money and takes yer choice.

Was the gen 2 gts able to run wheels smaller than 20”? Not sure if the s now having the gts brakes maybe means 20” rims may be the smallest that will fit ?
