Re: Colours

Personally, I’d have a T interior on a T, and indeed I do! ;)

Each to their own.

P.S. Looks like you’ve double-posted this thread.

Cheers,

Re: Porsche 911 Carrera S (992)

Consequently, the new 4.2-litre six-cylinder is better suited to gentleman drivers....what's a gentleman driver? They’re talking about people who buy these cars (GT3 R) to race in events. As the cars are €511k plus VAT and options, not to mention running costs, I think it’s mostly a millionaires-on...

Re: Porsche 911 Carrera S (992)

It seems as though Porsche is prioritising high-margin, low-volume models to protect the overall profitability of the business: https://newsroom.porsche.com/en/2022/motorsports/porsche-911-gt3-r-generation-992-customer-racing-car-premiere-29201.html Sells in such tiny numbers (relatively) that even...

Re: New here. Not an owner

Sounds like the 2.0 Macan may be your best bet. It has the smallest engine, so lowest emissions (which I guess is a consideration in central London?). And at a guess, the GLA 200 has a 2.0 engine too? 🤔 You should easily be able to compare size and weight (and even ‘urban’ fuel consumption) with a f...

Re: New here. Not an owner

Welcome! I agree that the 2.0 or T would be worth considering if you do 95% city driving. And definitely not the diesel if you’re mostly doing short trips. Do you really need an SUV at all, if you’re doing 95% city driving. Depending on your budget, maybe consider a Taycan? Or wait for the electric ...

Re: Turbo boost reduction

Well if they did my OPC SE didn't say anything as a he said the engines are run in enough at the factory pre-deilivery  As stated by Nuclear Nick (recently and on other occasions) engines are not ‘run in’ at the factory, or bench tested. The max that the engines do pre-delivery are the 10-15...

Last time I spent money on replacing pads was on an 8 yr old Morris Marina in 1982!!!
I’ll let you know if I have to change the discs on the Macan but I doubt it’ll be for a while yet.

Re: Viewing a Macan S

The viewing and test drive went well and after a bit of negotiation I paid a deposit and hopefully I'll pick up the Macan later this week once a few little jobs are completed. Most recent service was done in Dec 21 so next one not due till Dec 23 and gearbox service carried out at 42k miles. Warran...
