Re: New here. Not an owner

Bose is marginally better at best. When standard is bedded in the difference in sound is notional and I now have both! If you really like your sounds, Burmester is the only choice. I've never tested a Bose myself. I drove a Porsche with the system but never did a good run on it. I had Burmester exp...

Re: New here. Not an owner

Don't listen to anyone here lol. I live in London and just got a brand new Macan S last year. It's a great city car, comfortable, quiet (when trundling), smooth even on 21s (to me anyway coming from 4 series M Sport), absolute blast when you open it up. It isn't huge if you genuinely need space and...

Re: New here. Not an owner

Be careful how much notice you take on folks views on options, some come up with the strangest reasons for liking them. Think the best one was up above just, powersteering plus is essential if you don't want to look like popeye :? Bizarre! Good luck in your search. To be fair that is the same guy t...

Sorry about all the 'sound' advice you are getting from people questioning your need for a car, let alone a Macan
:D thanks a lot. Yeah, ended up having to share a bit more about personal circumstances. But all good

Re: New here. Not an owner

I can definitely see that. I consider myself a Petrol-head, and have owned cars from Aston Martin, Porsche ( obvs ), BMW, Audi, Mercedes and I’ve also owned motor bikes. If I lived in London I personally wouldn’t own a car but obviously don’t know the OP’s personal circumstances. Not sure I’d chose...

Re: New here. Not an owner

I have a friend from university days who in his career as an academic has lived in Harpenden, Glasgow, Luxemborg and Edinburgh. he does not like the hassle of running a car.and apart from when they lived in rural Fife have never owned a car. When they need one for a weekend trip or a UK holiday, th...

I do need to drive family around.

Re: New here. Not an owner

Absolutely fair comment. I love my Macan (as most do on here) but to buy one, particularly used, for predominantly London driving would be a challenge. It’s an expensive car to keep rolling and if a good ICE is the goal, one of the BMW E58 engines (3 litre straight six) in an X1,3 or 5 would be bet...

Re: New here. Not an owner

In your position I might look at the Kia e-niro. Top of the range new ‘22 model is £40k with a 280 mile genuine range and a bucketful of tech(most of which is not available in the Macan) The Macan is a great car but will struggle as a city car in stop start traffic and will be a complete waste of a...
